The entry, which is part of Marvelous' game series now known in English as Story of Seasons, originally appeared for feature phones in 2007. In addition, this game also features the protagonist's mother who will live with them in their house. The player can have the mother cook a meal for the protagonist, and they can also ask her about the relationship levels with available marriage candidates.

G-Mode has also ed a trailer showcasing Bokujo Monogatari Mobile: Live & Love on its YouTube channel:

Story of Seasons merchandise utensils including Mascot Cow branded glass milk mug

Movic has revealed a new lineup of interior merchandise inspired by Marvelous' Story of Seasons game series. The lineup will consist of a calendar clock, a milk jar-shaped room fragrance diff, and a dining utensil set that includes a glass milk mug branded with the series' mascot cow. Pre-orders for the items are available for a limited time on the Animate Online Shop.

The first item will be a desk clock with a calendar that costs 7,700 yen (~$48.30). The calendar will consist of blocks that regularly mark the month and day, but it will also have another block that marks the "seasonal month" as it appears in the series entries.

Next up on the list is a milk jar-shaped room fragrance diff that will cost 6,050 yen (~$38). Movic noted that the fragrance used here will be inspired by the Blue Feather that the games' players use to confess love. After the fragrance has run out, the owner will be able to wash the jar and repurpose it to store items.

The last entry is a dining utensil set that includes a glass mug branded with the franchise's mascot cow; although the owner is free to pour any drink other than milk. This set will have a price tag of 9,900 yen (~$62).

These items feature the title Bokujo Monogatari, which is what the farming life simulation game series has been consistently known as in Japan. It was formerly known in the West as Harvest Moon, but a title rights issue caused the franchise to be split. The more recent titles and remakes of the original series are now being released under the Story of Seasons brand. In late May 2024, Marvelous showed a sneak peek of the series' entry that will feature a usable glider.

Movic will close the pre-order period for the Story of Seasons merchandise collection on July 9, 2024. The company will start delivering the finished products in October 2024.

New Story of Seasons Game Features a Glider

During the Marvelous Game Showcase 2024, the new Story of Seasons game was revealed to offer a glider as a new means of getting around the world. This ended up being our first look at the title since its 2023 tease during the company’s last showcase, and it highlighted looks at familiar farm animals and crops.

Back when this new Story of Seasons game was announced, Marvelous noted it would be an entry “you can play with everyone.” Multiplayer was designed to be a goal. This was affirmed again in the latest showcase. So was the ability to use a glider to explore areas, which we got to see in the new video. New types of weather, which will be more realistic, will appear. So will pets like dogs and cats.

You can get a look at the latest footage in the video below. Aside from the Story of Seasons glider reveal, looks at classic animals, and view of crops and the new locations, no updated information or title appeared.

The last Story of Seasons game to appear worldwide was Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life. It was a remake of the GameCube entry.

Piczle Cross: Story of Seasons

Rainy Frog has released Piczle Cross: Story of Seasons, a nonogram puzzle game that features characters and critters from Marvelous' farming life simulation game series. The puzzle game is available digitally worldwide on Nintendo Switch via each region's eShop and PC via Steam.

A total of 350 puzzles are available in this game. It also contains numerous optional gameplay assist settings, such as autofill and autocorrect.

Even though nonogram puzzles form the game's primary features, this title also has some elements from the farming game series. This game features a farm that is empty at first; it will be eventually filled with crops and livestock as the player clears more puzzles. It also includes an almanac that gradually adds biographies of series characters upon clearing their puzzles.

The Japanese press release revealed that the puzzle game features content from the following five titles: the 2014 3DS game Story of Seasons, the 2016 Trio of Towns, 2019's Friends of Mineral Town, 2021's Pioneers of Olive Town, and the 2023 remake of the GameCube title A Wonderful Life. That covers all the Story of Seasons titles Marvelous and XSEED have released after the split from Harvest Moon's IP holder Natsume.

Piczle Cross: Story of Seasons is now available on Nintendo Switch and PC.

First Story of Seasons Nendoroid Is a Claire Figure

Among the Good Smile Company WonHobby 37 Summer figure announcements was the reveal that it is working on a Story of Seasons Nendoroid of Claire. The figure is still early in development. On the official website, only concept art of the character appeared.

Here's a first look at how the Story of Seasons Claire Nendoroid might look, with the figure art showing her in her traditional flannel shirt and overalls. She's also holding a large turnip. It is unknown if the finished figure will also come with any farm animals.
[gallery columns="1" size="full" ids="975223" link="file"]

Claire first showed up in the Story of Seasons game Bokujou Monogatari: Harvest Moon for Girl as the player character's avatar. She also appeared in the PSP version of it, as well as Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town and Harvest Moon DS: Cute. Most recently, we saw her appear in thee remake Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. She’s one of the most frequently appearing female avatar options in the series, with others being Pony or Sara. (However, given people can customize their avatars, they might not know their "default" names.)

There's no official release window for the Story of Seasons Claire Nendoroid, as the figure is still in development.

Nintendo Switch Online Harvest Moon

Four more games have been added to the Nintendo Switch Online library for June 2023. The four new titles are Harvest Moon (SNES), Kirby Tilt ‘n’ Tumble (Game Boy), Blaster Master: Enemy Below (Game Boy) and Mystery Tower (NES).

Harvest Moon is the classic SNES farming sim that kicked off the Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons series. It had previously been released for the Japanese Nintendo Switch Online service in 2022.

Kirby Tilt ‘n Tumble is a unique Game Boy title that originally released on a cartridge with an accelerometer. This created a game where players had to tilt their Game Boy to steer Kirby and flick it upwards to cause him to jump. This is the first time the game has seen a re-release since its original release in 2000. It's the latest of many Kirby games to the service since Kirby's Dream Land 2 in March.

Blaster Master: Enemy Below is a Game Boy spin-off of the classic Blaster Master series. It was previously available for the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console.

Mystery Tower is a puzzle platformer from Namco. It originally released for the Famicom in 1986, under the name Tower of Babel. This Nintendo Switch Online release marks the first time the game has released outside Japan.

Harvest Moon, Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble, Blaster Master: Enemy Below and Mystery Tower are available as of June 6, 2023, through Nintendo Switch Online.

The Story of Seasons series is becoming real for a time, thanks to a special collaboration with a winter destination in Japan's Shizuoka prefecture. A crossover event between Story of Seasons and Snow Park Yeti will have game-themed activities and events for fans to engage in. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Formally called "Story of Seasons in Snow Park Yeti", the event runs until March 26, 2023, the end of Japan's winter season. Both indoor and outdoor activities are included in the program, to cater to fans who want to play in the snow and then come in from the cold. The events are targeted at families and children, though participants of all ages are welcome.

The activities include a stamp rally, where participants can visit different locations to track down lost farm animals. Stations set around the area will have Story of Seasons stickers and merchandise to obtain. There's also a treasure hunt activity that involves digging in the snow for hidden goodies, including Story of Seasons merch, snacks, and other prizes. Finally, the Snow Park café will host a Story of Seasons menu with food themed after the series.

The food items include sheep-themed vegetable curry, cow's milk potage soup, pudding made with chicken eggs, and rabbit-themed café au lait. Orders come with special themed drink coasters to collect.

favorite collector's edition persona 5 cat

limited edition releases like Shin Megami Tensei’s “Fall of Man” edition have us thinking: what’s your favorite collector’s edition release? With cool bonuses and physical goodies, they can be a lot of fun. Here are ours. Let us know yours in the comments!

The most likely thing to get me to shell out for a collector's edition of something is if I can tell myself the goods included will be useful. That's partly why pack-in DLC tends to tempt me! But as far as physical goods go? It's the bags and containers that draw my eye, especially if they look interesting.

To this day I use the Shujin Academy school bag that came with Persona 5's Take Your Heart Edition as a day bag. It may be a pale imitation of the actual school bags used by Japanese high schoolers, but it does the job and has proved reasonably sturdy! I also keep a number of valuables in the metal Grand Theft Auto IV-branded safety deposit box that came with that game's collector's edition (the first game I bought upon buying a PS3). — Josh

fire emblem fates special edition best

As cool as cool little objects can be, my favorite collector's edition feature is functionality. Like the Sakura Wars VMU! Or the Boxboy! Qbby amiibo!

The ultimate functionality, though? A bit more preservation. Fire Emblem Fates' Special Edition release includes the Revelation campaign, a third route that's otherwise -only, directly on the game card. Someday, it may be the only legitimate way to play it! Which in and of itself is sort of a systemic problem. And that's a bummer. But it doesn't make the cartridge less cool. — Graham

favorite collector's edition story of seasons plush

I don't often buy collector's editions of games. I will always grab Fire Emblem ones when I can, to encourage Nintendo to keep making them, but I tend to forgo grabbing them. The exception is when Story of Seasons and Rune Factory games come up. I have a collection of related stuffed animals to maintain, and I'd hate to miss one. limited edition releases like Shin Megami Tensei’s “Fall of Man” edition have us thinking: what’s your favorite collector’s edition release?
— Josh fire emblem fates special edition best As cool as cool little objects can be, my favorite collector's edition feature is functionality. The release of a new Story of Seasons has us thinking about farming games! Which are the best ones? The Siliconera staff is here to help with some handy recommendations.

Hi. My name is Annette and I was a Stardew Valley addict. Peer pressure wrangled me into checking it out, and when I finally bit that bullet? I became addicted. Stardew Valley consumed every moment of my day. There are long lost pages around here somewhere on which I attempted to optimize my garden and greenhouse for maximum returns. I'm pretty sure that I even had a spreadsheet for tracking gifts and relationships. Seriously, what is it about farming games that makes them more addictive than sugar? (Can we grow sugarcane in Stardew yet? No, don't answer that.) Ever since the addition of co-op, I have debated diving back in. But I've been clean since May 16, 2018, and that save file is long gone. — Annette

valheim farming

While it isn't necessarily a traditional farming game by any means, Valheim offers a true farming sim experience packed away within the confines of a satisfying gameplay loop. You can plant different types of crops and even engage in animal husbandry, which requires some finesse on the player's end. Luring boars, and even wolves, into enclosures to domesticate can be trying, and take time. But it's completely worth it and adds a new flavor to animal caretaking that you can't find otherwise. Nothing was more satisfying than building my farm from the ground up (literally), and seeing the fruits of my labor manifest in food and healing items. — Kazuma

rune factory 4 special farming games

Rune Factory 4 has the distinction of being one of the few games to lure me in not once, but twice. I invested dozens of hours in the game on the 3DS. I loved growing crops, taming monsters, interacting with characters and exploring dungeons. Then, when Rune Factory 4 Special showed up for the Switch, I ended up sucked into the virtual life again and made different sorts of choices.

I also very much appreciated that it is the sort of game that could end. (If you want it to.) While it is endless, going ahead and stopping after you complete the campaign is definitely an option. And sometimes it is nice to feel like you're done. — Jenni

friends of mineral town farming games

I love farming games in principle, but I've more or less lost the patience needed to faff about in town on a schedule. That said, I still do have an abiding love for the concept of a faming game, and in my mind's eye that always comes down to the PS1 classic Harvest Moon: Back To Nature. This is the one that was later remade for the GBA and then for the Switch as Friends of Mineral Town. I still have fond memories of puttering around town and trying my best to woo Karen (best girl!) on the meager earnings of a lazy turnip farmer.

Beyond that, when it comes to farming I prefer to do it in games that aren't explicitly about tending to a farm, Give me a farm that I can put up as part of a Fallout 4 settlement, a No Man's Sky base, or even the farming minigame planned for Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. These days I love farming gameplay best when it's part of something bigger. — Josh

ooblets farming games

Like Josh, I like my farming when it's part of a larger whole. But I also need it to be essential and rewarding to the other elements of the game! The best one I've found? Yep, I'm going to talk about Ooblets again. The farming here feeds into the creature collection and combat. It facilitates friendships and story progression. Most importantly, it doesn't have that constantly-ticking clock sort of pressure like a lot of traditional farming games! You can do things efficiently, sure. But the penalty's not that bad if you don't. — Graham

story of seasons same-sex marriage

XSEED Games is currently working on a localization for the latest Story of Seasons release. This one is particularly fascinating, and it's not just because this is a remake of an older game from the Natsume days. Not only is the team at XSEED localizing the latest Story of Seasons from scratch, the North American localization features a small but potentially significant change to a part of the game related to the new, same-sex romance options.

This news comes from a blog post on XSEED Games' official website that introduced some insight on the localization process. This new release, titled Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town, is a remake of Game Boy Advance Harvest Moon classics Friends of Mineral Town and More Friends of Mineral Town. While that title isn't 1:1 with the original Japanese, as it altered the former Best Friend system, added new characters, and made other changes, XSEED is keeping the title for fans of the originals. That said, changes are being made as the team is localizing as if it's a new project.

One change has to do with hearts. Romance options have them showing in conversations, so you can see the level of your relationship. Outside Japan, it’ll be possible to check that immediately regardless of a character’s gender. Here's the full context explaining the change, straight from the blog post:

One major change between both the original version and the remake, as well as between our version and the Japanese version, concerns what has been called the “Best Friends” system in the Japanese release, where the player character can form a lifelong partnership with a character of the same sex. In our version, this will just be called “marriage,” and the relationship between same-sex couples will be given identical treatment to opposite-sex couples. This has been a very long time coming in the Story of Seasons series, and the producer has been ive of our decision from very early in development. One minor but important change for the North American and European releases of Friends of Mineral Town is that the “heart icon” indicating a marriage candidate’s romantic affinity for the player will display for all marriage candidates from the start of the game, where in the Japanese release it will only display for same-sex candidates after you confess and start dating.

Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is coming this year to the Nintendo Switch. The XSEED store page notes a targeted July 2020 launch in North America, which falls in line with the July 10, 2020 release date for Australia and Europe, but that's subject to change. It is immediately available in Japan.

harvest moon story of seasons

The whole Harvest Moon Story of Season name change was quite a big deal in its time. Basically, when XSEED Games took over publishing duties, it couldn’t still use the Harvest Moon name. Natsume took it over and began using it with games it developed. So the original Bokujou Monogatari titles were localized with a new moniker: Story of Seasons. As part of the company’s 15th anniversary celebrations, an achievement marked in November 2019, it has revealed historical tidbits. Now, one is about other potential names being tossed around before Story of Seasons was settled on.

On Facebook, XSEED Games brought up three other possibilities from back when the whole Harvest Moon Story of Seasons change was going on. Two seem genuinely serious, while the remaining title is a little more lighthearted. Two had to do with seasons, specifically “Autumn Wind” and “Summer Solstice.” Both of these referenced the change in seasons in the game and how they influence farming. The third option, however, was “Plow & Propose.” This calls attention to two gameplay elements, which are the farming aspects and the ability to enter into relationships with villagers and marry them.

Story of Seasons was the name the company landed on. It has been used for five games so far. Three are the mainline entries Story of Seasons (3DS), Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns (3DS), and Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town (Switch). The other two are the spin-offs Doraemon: Story of Seasons (Switch and PC) and Return to PopoloCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale (3DS).

Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is immediately available for the Nintendo Switch in Japan, will come to Australia and Europe on July 10, 2020, and will come to North America in Summer 2020.

In addition to some talk on Rune Factory 5, Marvelous had a couple other tidbits to share during a financial results briefing, including talk about a traditional Story of Seasons and some trouble they ran into for a game that has yet to be announced. [Thanks, @mochi_wsj.]

First, regarding Bokujou Monogatari (Story of Seasons) Marvelous is considering a traditional release for consoles, as they currently have a spinoff in the works with Doraemon: Story of Seasons. Marvelous says that Bokujou Monogatari is an important IP to them, and another one they’d like to properly take their time to make.

Marvelous then talked about some trouble they ran into while working on a new game, “In the current state of affairs it is becoming increasingly difficult to make,” said a Marvelous representative about games with sexy elements.

The developers are working on an unannounced game that feature sexy elements, but they had to be removed. Moreover, the company says that it lowered the game’s sales forecast following the change.

Senran Kagura producer Kenichiro Takaki worked with Marvelous for 13 years before leaving the company due to the change in restrictions of depicting sexuality in games, so perhaps the unannounced title in question may have had his involvement in some level, considering some of the other titles he’s worked on. You can read more from Takaki in our previous report.

Marvelous and Brownies announced in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine that a new Bokujou Monogatari/Story of Seasons game is in the works, and they’re not talking about the Doraemon one. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]

Here are some highlights from the interview:

  • Bandai Namco’s Koji Nakajima-san is a fan of Harvest Moon: Back to Nature and started the project after wanting to make a Doraemon game.
  • Doraemon: Nobita’s Story of Seasons has a fully-complete main story, unlike previous entries from Story of Seasons.
  • The theme is about family, with a main story that focuses on family’s love.
  • Players will mostly work on the ranch, and they say it can be pretty tough to start out.
  • Doraemon’s Secret Gadgets will basically be there to help out on parts that you’ve always felt were an inconvenience in the regular Story of Season games.
  • For example, the “At Gun-Gun” makes it so that crops immediately grow, however, since it is a consumable item you’ll want to be selective on how to use it.
  • Lastly, Hikaru Nakano at Marvelous says “We’re also moving forward on the production of a separate new game for Bokujou Monogatari. We plan to further expand on Bokujou Monogatari from this point onward.

Doraemon: Nobita’s Story of Seasons releases for Nintendo Switch in Japan on June 13, 2019. You can check out its latest trailer, screenshots, and details in our previous report. A new Bokujou Monogatari game is also in development for smartphones by Tencent Games.
