Good Smile Company started pre-orders for a 1/8 scale figure of Devil Homura, a form of Homura Akemi seen in Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Rebellion. The figure is priced at ¥25,000 (approx. $167.79), and it is scheduled to be released in December 2025.

Including the stand, Devil Homura stands approximately 380mm (14.96 inches) tall and 345mm (13.58 inches) wide. The figure is intricately designed to cast a silhouette when in direct light, aided by translucent sections of Homura's wings.

Additionally, certain parts of Homura's outfit feature metallic paint to create an "ethereal finish," inspired by Homura's Goddess Form. The pre-order window is open until July 2, 2025, and it is currently available via Good Smile Japan.

This year will feature more than just one Puella Magi Madoka Magica Devil Homura figurine. Global pre-orders are still open for the Ultimate Madoka & Devil Homura figure by Prime 1 Studio. That has a price tag of $799 and an expected shipping date of September 2025. A reissue of the Devil Homura Nendoroid from 2015 is also open to pre-order ahead of a release in June 2025.

Prime 1 Studio showcased its new Prisma Wing set featuring the Ultimate Madoka and Devil Homura from Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie -Rebellion-. The studio has also opened global pre-orders for the figure set on its web store. It will release the set in September 2025.

The new Prisma Wing set will cost $799. People interested in ordering the figure set can pay $79.90 as the first down payment. They can then opt to have up to four more installments with monthly payments starting from June 2025. However, the above price does not include shipping costs. Prime 1 Studio will charge the latter depending on the destination country ($118 in the US, for example) at the same time as the final installment.

The static figure set will have a scale of 1/7. It will depict Madoka and Homura's appearances in the movie that launched in Japan in 2013. The overall set will have a total height of 43 cm (16.93 in), width of 38 cm (14.96 in), and depth of 30 cm (11.81 in). Prime 1 Studio will also offer a special postcard featuring both characters as a bonus.

There has been a renewed interest in the releases of figures from the Madoka Magica -Rebellion- movie. In December 2024, Good Smile Company announced a restock of the Devil Homura Nendoroid that originally came out in 2015. The pre-order window for the new batch already closed on February 5, 2025, and the company will release it in June 2025.

The Prisma Wing figure set featuring Ultimate Madoka and Devil Homura from Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie -Rebellion- will be available to ship worldwide in September 2025. Prime 1 Studio will close the pre-order window when it has reached the allotted order limit.

Good Smile Company has announced a reissue of the Homura Akemi Devil Homura Nendoroid from the Madoka Magica movie, Rebellion. Originally released in 2015, the Nendoroid returns for preorder on the Good Smile Company site and will release in June, 2025.

This Nendoroid is Devil Homura as she appears at the end of Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Rebellion with optional faceplates and parts for her holding a defeated Kyubey or her dark crystal. It will come with its own action stand.

The Nendoroid is open for pre-orders from December 12, 2024 until February 5, 2025. It costs ¥7,900, or around $51.83 before shipping.

The Nendoroid reissue follows news from earlier this year where it was revealed that the followup to Rebellion, Walpurgisnacht: Rising, would be delayed to Winter, 2025. In addition, a new trailer for the film was released in November, 2024 centering on Homura's perspective of the events in Walpurgisnacht: Rising.

From January 7, 2025, Aniplex will stream an episode of Puella Magi Madoka Magica every week for free. It will only stream each episode once, so it’s highly unlikely that you’ll be able to catch it via archives if you miss the stream.

The reason why Aniplex will start from January 7, 2025 is to match up with the original broadcast date of the anime. Back when Puella Magi Madoka Magica first started airing in 2011, it started on January 7. You’ll be able to catch the streams every Tuesday from 9:00 PM JST. That would convert to 4:00 AM PDT/7:00 AM EDT. Since this will be an Aniplex Japan stream, it’s highly unlikely that there will be any subtitles other than Japanese.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a  psychological thriller magical girl anime from Shaft and written by Gen Urobuchi, who also worked on Fate/Zero and Song of Saya. The plot follows Madoka Kaname, an ordinary girl, who encounters a bizarre animal named Kyubey while with her best friend Sayaka Miki. Kyubey turns out to be a creature that can form contracts with girls and turn them into magical girls to fight against witches. However, Kyubey’s contract is a lot more sinister than it seems. The show was highly popular for its subversive nature and visuals, and the series is still going on today in the form of movies.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is readily available on streaming services like Crunchyroll, and Aniplex will start streaming it from January 7, 2025.

If you want the best manga side story of this series, Oriko is the one to pick up. Once again, it centers on a new magical girl the series hasn’t seen before. At the same time, though, it brings back some fan-favorite characters like Mami, who tragically didn’t get as much screen time as they deserved in the original series.

If you don’t mind playing in Japanese (or using a fan translation), there is a video game adaptation of Madoka Magica for the PSP. It interestingly enough plays as a dungeon crawler RPG-meets-visual novel. This is a must-play for fans of the series, as it has routes for all of the main magical girls, including ones like Homura, Mami, and Sayaka. You can even change the fates of some of them and see extra story content.

Furyu has opened up pre-orders for 1/4 scale figures of Japanese dolls of Madoka and Homura from Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Rebellion. These dolls depict them wearing Japanese kimono, looking like they’re ready for the New Year’s or some other important festival.

You can get either one on their own, or a collection of both. Buying both of them at once will also net you an acrylic case to display them in. Each doll costs 198,000 JPY ($1348.10) or you can buy both for 396,000 JPY ($2696.20). These are pretty pricey, but these are completely made to order and as they’re 1/4 scales, they’re quite big. Pre-orders are open until December 9, 2024 and they’ll come out some time in December 2025. Shipment will start in December 2025. Furyu offers international shipping, so overseas customers can also purchase these dolls.

Doll artist Ayumi Uyama designed the costumes. The kimono aren’t exactly traditional, and combines some Western styles and sensibilities into them. This seems to be a reference to their magical girl outfits. Non-traditional elements include the lace at the collar and hem. While Madoka is holding a temari ball in her hand, Homura is holding a bag. The bag’s design makes it look as if she’s carting around Kyubey’s decapitated head.

The Madoka and Homura Japanese dolls are available for pre-order via Furyu and will come out in December 2025.

Lotte will have a collaboration with Shaft, releasing limited-time Puella Magi Madoka Magica versions of its Koala’s March snacks. They’re only available online and purchasing the entire set will get you a free clear file. [Thanks, Oricon!]

There are two versions of the boxes. One version uses stills from the anime, such as the scene of Madoka lying on the grass from the opening or Sayaka’s heroic pose after she first appears as a magical girl. The second version uses promotional images of the girls, but they all have the signature ears and nose of the Koala’s March mascot.

As mentioned earlier, the Puella Magi Madoka Magica Koala’s March snacks (officially called Madoka Magica's March) won’t be in physical stores. You can only purchase them via the Lotte Online Shop from October 3, 2024. During the first production run of Madoka Magica's March, Lotte will sell 3500 limited-time sets that’ll come with all ten designs, as well as an original clear file. The front of the file will show the girls looking like their normal selves, and then the back will show them with the koala ears and noses. As for the cost, it'll be about 3980 JPY or $27.20 and the whole thing will come in a special box depicting the five main girls.

This collaboration seems to be part of the 40th anniversary campaign for Koala’s March. Koala’s March is a bite-sized cookie that contains a sweet filling. The filling is usually sweet chocolate, but there have been variations such as the apple pie flavor for Hello Kitty or the more common strawberry. Puella Magi Madoka Magica will also be celebrating an anniversary, as the Walpurgisnacht Rising movie (originally announced as part of the 10th anniversary) will come out some time in 2025.

There are now two new Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra character trailers to watch, this time for the iconic Mami Tomoe and the spin-off character Yachiyo Nanami. Both will be playable units when the mobile and PC game eventually appears, and a key visual confirmed many of their allies will them.

First, here’s the Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra Mami Tomoe trailer. She debuted in the original Madoka Magica anime series. She’s a well-established magical girl, and she’s known for attacks that involve all sorts of guns. This is preserved here, and we also see her use the move that involves her turning her ribbon into a huge cannon.

Next, here’s the trailer for Yachiyo Nanami in Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra. She ends up becoming one of Iroha’s allies in the Magia Record spin-off. However, due to the nature of her abilities, she started out as the sort of person who worked alone.

This isn’t the only recent trailer for Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra, as another two major ones appeared ahead of the looks at Mami and Yachiyo. One was a general teaser that focused on characters like Madoka Kaname and Iroha Tamaki. Then, we got one that focused entirely on Homura Akemi and her gameplay.

The new piece of key art also teased a number of Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra characters who will appear in the game. In addition to Madoka, Homura, Mami, and Yachiyo, we also see Sayaka Miki, Kyoko Sakura, Nagisa Momoe, Tsuruno Yui, Sana Futaba, Felicia Mitsuki, and Ui Tamaki. This means the game mainly consists of characters from the original anime and Magia Record.

The release date for the Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime movie Walpurgisnacht: Rising has been delayed by a year to Winter 2025. The Aniplex production committee for the film announced that the delay is happening due to circumstances surrounding production, but offered no further details.

Additionally, the production committee issued an apology for the delay and promised to continue working hard to deliver an even better film than originally intended. A trailer for the new Walpurgisnacht: Rising anime movie featuring Homura appeared in late October 2024, and it revealed the former release window of Winter 2024.

The new Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime movie is a direct sequel to the previous film Rebellion, originally released over a decade ago in October 2013. The new anime movie was announced in April 2021 as part of the 10th anniversary project for the Puella Magi Madoka Magica franchise, and will once again be animated by Shaft Animation Studio.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie - Walpurgisnacht: Rising- is currently in production and the release date has been delayed by a year from Winter 2024 to Winter 2025. The movie is also known as Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Walpurgis no Kaiten in Japanese.

Akihabara Collection announced the release of an ukiyo-e woodblock print based on the Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime series. The woodprint costs 71,500 yen (approximately $466) and will be limited to 300 units worldwide.

The woodblock print is titled The Law of Cycles and is named after a concept from the anime series. The ukiyo-e print will be available from the Akihabara Collection online store and it will go on sale on July 27, 2024. In addition, the print will be available in Japan, North America, and other territories. The print will include a certificate of authenticity signed by the manufacturers.

The Puella Magi Madoka Magica woodblock print features Ultimate Madoka, and it seems like the print will include a pink Swarovski crystal. The crystal will be placed on Madoka’s Soul Gem pendant, which is located around her neck. However, some images of the print found on the Akihabara Collection website show the print without the crystal.

Back on February 2023, Akihabara Collection released another collaboration ukiyo-e print based the Attack on Titan anime series. The company has released other prints based on popular anime series, like a One Piece print and various Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045 items.

The Puella Magi Madoka Magica ukiyo-e woodblock print costs 71,500 yen (~$466,) and it will be available for purchase from July 27, 2024.

Atlus and Sega announced that the Puella Magi Madoka Magica SMT Liberation Dx2 event is now live until July 24, 2024, bringing Madoka Kaname, Homura Akemi, and the Witch Walpurgisnacht to the game. This is tied to the new, fourth Madoka Magica movie Walpurgisnacht: Rising, which is due to appear in 2024.

First, there are events tied to Madoka Magica showing up in the game. One is a campaign. That started alongside the event on July 11, 2024. If people for ten days total, they get 50 Madoka Magica Summon Files for the gacha and five Time-limited Monster Dews to recover stamina. In addition, "The power of hope, and a cursed destiny..." two-part event is now running, with Part 1 going until July 17, 2024. Part 2 will last July 17-24, 2024. Going through quests and missions during it can net you Auto-Turning Cogs for the event exchange. There are also special Event Genome Cubes with special Skills to earn and other rewards for completing quests like Madoka Magica Summon Files or the An Existence that Negates All title. 

As for the three Madoka Magica SMT Liberation Dx2 event characters, all of them are Grade 90 five-stars. Some of Madoka’s highlighted abilities are the ive unique skill My Prayer, which is notable due to one of its effects giving all allies a 2,000HP Bulwark with Fortify while boosting the party’s attack and defense while the Bullwark is active. Her active unique skill It’ll Be All Right. Homura’s ive unique skill Time Traveler increases her Phys damage and adds Phys Pierce, increases her hit and critical hit rate, increases battle speed, adds Null Charm, and keeps her from dying from killing blows twice. Her active unique skill is called I’ll Finish Up Alone. Finally, Walpurgisnacht has the Play’s Editor ive unique skill that, among other things, gives her a Bulwark that is 100% of her HP and decreases damage by 100% when it is active. Her active unique skill is called Great Calamity.

Anime crossovers aren’t uncommon for SMT Liberation Dx2. Berserkand Ghost in the Shellboth appeared in the game.

Aniplex announced Puella Magi Madoka Magica Magia Exedra will not only be on mobile devices, but the game will be on Steam for the PC in Japanese and English. The product page is live and lists a 2024 release window. 

The product listing confirmed some things we already knew about this Puella Magi Madoka Magica game. Madoka Magica Magia Exedra will be playable alone or with others either cooperatively or competitively. There will be in-app purchases. However, the page also confirmed the English subtitles and UI for Madoka Magica Magia Exedra. Previously, we were only certain about the Japanese ones. Only Japanese voice acting will appear. 

The PC requirements also appeared. Here are the minimum ones:

Aniplex announced that it will release a new Madoka Magica mobile app game in Japan in 2024. The new game will be known by its full title, Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra.

Aniplex has also revealed the companies that are working on this title. Aniplex itself is handling the project planning, and it will also be the company that releases the game on the app stores. Pokelabo and f4samurai will work together to develop the game. However, Pokelabo will take a more central role as it will produce the game with 3D graphics. The same studio will also regularly manage the mobile game after it is released.

Pokelabo is most famous for working on Square Enix and Yoko Taro's mobile game SINoALICE, which had already ceased existing in Japan in mid-January 2024. However, Magia Exedra will not be the only active mobile game the company has in 2024. Pokelabo is also known for developing Assault Lily: Last Bullet, and it is working with So-net to release Assault Lily: Last Bullet W internationally on iOS and Android.

Meanwhile, f4samurai is also still busy handling Magia Record. While the earlier Madoka Magica mobile game has been no longer available in English since 2020, it is still actively ongoing in Japan as of April 2024.

SuperGroupies showed off some new additions to its Puella Magi Madoka Magica line, including two new watches and jackets styled after Demon Homura and Ultimate Madoka. The watches also feature two sub-dials for marking the day of the week and the month.

There are two watches and two jackets, each with one version sporting a dark, Demon Homura-inspired aesthetic, and the other with a white and pink focus based on Madoka Kaname's Ultimate form. There are also other allusions to the designs like crests and wing motifs, as well as adjustable metal straps. The jackets also share some of these details, and both come with removable hoods and patterns on the inside. The Madoka jacket is also reversable.

The watches will each cost $270 or ¥29,700, while the jackets will set you back $190 or ¥20,900. For orders from the Global store, the watches are expected to ship in early September, 2024, and the jackets will ship in July, 2024. Meanwhile, US store orders are both expected to ship in early November, 2024.

Back in October, 2023, we got a new trailer for the Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten movie, which is expected sometime in Winter, 2024. Mayla also produced some Madoka merchandise of its own with a collection of earrings based off the series' witches and grief seeds.

Mayla will open up sales for earrings based on the witches and their Grief Seeds from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. You’ll be able to order them from the company's official website starting from February 26, 2024.

The witches that you can buy merchandise from are three prominent ones from the original show: Gertrud, Charlotte, and Oktavia von Seckendorff. There are two variations of earrings you can get for each witch. The first kind is a pair of dangling earrings in which the top part is a pearl in the same color as the witches' image, and the bottom is the witches' Grief Seeds in Puella Magi Madoka Magica. The second variation actually looks like the witch’s real body.

You’ll be able to purchase these earrings from February 26 to March 25, 2024 via Mayla’s website. Mayla does offer international shipping. So overseas customers will be able to buy them directly from Mayla’s site. The Grief Seed versions of the earrings cost 9790 JPY ($65.11), and the witch body earrings cost 24,640 JPY ($163.90). You can also get a complete set with both pairs, and it’ll cost 32,450 JPY ($215.80).

These Puella Magi Madoka Magica earrings aren’t the only pieces of merchandise Mayla is selling. It is also offering shoes based on Hatsune Miku and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Other ongoing collaborations include ones with Tsurune, Twisted Wonderland, and Mononoke.
