Bandai Namco has published new screenshots from its release of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Battle Destiny Remastered. It showcases some of the Mobile Suits and Mobile Armors from the remaster that will appear on Nintendo Switch and PC. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

The game will contain over 100 units from eight titles across the sub-series' Cosmic Era universe. But while the title list was pretty much comprehensive as of the original game's release on the PS Vita in 2012, it does not include newer entries like the 2024 movie Gundam SEED Freedom, the 2021 manga Gundam SEED Eclipse, and Gundam SEED Astray: Princess of the Sky.

The eight titles featured in the game are as follows:

2. Mobile Suit Gundam SEED MSV
3. Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Astray
4. Mobile Suit Gundam SEED X Astray
5. Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny

Bandai Namco has revealed that it will release Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Battle Destiny Remastered worldwide on May 22, 2025. The remaster of the game that originally came out for PlayStation Vita in June 2012 will appear on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. This announcement confirmed speculations that rose up following Bandai Namco's re-registration of the Battle Destiny trademark in October 2024.

The Japanese official site provided more details on the remaster, since the original game appeared exclusively in Japan. The Switch version will have a variable frame rate capped at 30 fps, while the PC version can have an unlimited frame rate with a maximum resolution of 4K by going over the recommended specs. But while the original Vita release had a network menu with ad-hoc multiplayer features, the remastered version will remove all of those and thus become a completely offline single-player game.

Bandai Namco has also published an official trailer showcasing the new remaster. But even though the English trailer features an English-dubbed narration by Archangel's captain Murrue Ramius, the company has clarified that the full game will only have Japanese voiceovers with additional subtitles in English and Traditional Chinese.

Bandai Namco has been spotted re-ing a trademark related to Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Battle Destiny. The Japanese trademark tracker website Chizai Watch noted that the company applied to the "Battle Destiny" trademark on October 10, 2024.

For the record, Gundam SEED: Battle Destiny originally appeared for PlayStation Vita in Japan on June 7, 2012. The title is a third-person action game featuring characters and mechs from the Gundam SEED series' Cosmic Era universe. It included content from the original 2002 anime show, the 2004 sequel Destiny, the 2006 original net animation Stargazer, and early Astray side stories.

Battle Destiny let players create original avatar pilots who can be a Coordinator, Natural, or Biological U and d with either the Earth Alliance or ZAFT. While they could participate in story missions for the chosen side, a mid-story branch would allow them to the third faction led by Lacus Clyne and Kira Yamato.

A trademark is generally valid for ten years in Japan. As Bandai Namco re-ed the "Battle Destiny" trademark more than ten years after releasing the game in 2012, it raised the possibility of a sequel or remaster of the title on newer platforms.

Post-apocalyptic animal adventure, Tokyo Jungle, surprised everyone by selling over 110,000 copies in its opening week in Japan. That sounds like a nice, round number, but to put it in context, we’d need to know how many copies Sony managed to ship to retailers. Luckily, sales tracker, Media Create, provided that information today.

Media Create report that Tokyo Jungle sold through 87.47% of its shipment. That’s a high sell-through number and indicates that the game performed well.

Meanwhile, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny on the PlayStation Vita sold approximately 40,300 copies. That’s a 68.26% sell-through.

Namco Bandai will have online events for Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny. The PlayStation Vita Gundam game has weekly challenges that tally the efforts of all of the players connected online. Fans can also vote for their favorite Gundam every week and Namco Bandai will make a wallpaper with the top pick.

Perfect Strike Gundam, Hyperion Gundam Unit 2, and Legend Gundam are confirmed for Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny.

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny got its first promo video this week. We hadn’t such much of the PlayStation Vita game up until now, but the promo runs for close to 3 minutes and shows off a fair bit of in-game footage:

Gundam Seed Battle Destiny has ad-hoc multiplayer as well as online play. There are two multiplayer modes in the game: 2-player co-op and 4-player battles. You can side either with the Earth Federation or with ZAFT, and Namco have included new story content that wasn’t present in the Gundam Seed anime series.

From Aegis Gundam to Strike Freedom, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny has a number of mobile suits you can pilot. Before you go to war, you have to pick a side. Players can see the story from the Earth Federation perspective or ZAFT. Namco Bandai created original scenes for the game for story routes that weren't in the original anime series.

The first screenshots of Artdink’s Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny for PlayStation Vita are out now, courtesy of Famitsu.com. As previously reported, the game covers the Seed, Destiny, Seed C.E. 73 Stargazer, Seed Astray, X Astray, Seed MSV and Seed Vs. Astray series.

With regard to mobile suits, You’ll find a lot of Seed favourites in the game, including a lot of the different variants piloted by Kira and Athrun.  Models like the Destiny Gundam, the Strike Freedom, the Infinite Justice and Cagalli’s Akatsuki are all present and ed for. Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny is planned for a spring 2012 release. It’s 70% of the way through development at the moment.

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny uses the right stick for camera control and has a touch screen weapon changing system where you can tap icons to change gear. Players can use global points to purchase new items to fine tune Gundam from a shop. Additional Gundam are earned if you clear a mission with a certain rank or higher.

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny has ad-hoc cooperative play. Namco Bandai plan to release the game in Japan this spring.
