Timi Studio, Activision and Square Enix announced that the Call of Duty Mobile NieR: Automata event is about to begin, and they also shared the various character skins based on 2B, 9S, and the YoRHa Commander White. Everything starts at 5pm PT/8pm ET on May 30, 2025. 

There are three NieR: Automata character skins in Call of Duty Mobile, though only one can be earned for free. By playing, we can get the 9S costume for Ryotaro "Kui Ji" Nagashima. The 2B and Commander White outfits will show up for Lizbeth "Kestrel" Warnholdt and Fiona St. George, though both of those will appear via the Draw banners. The 2B one also will feature Legendary PP19 Bizon, while the Commander one will have AK47 - Final Apocalypact.

The 9S skin isn’t the only item people can earn by playing Call of Duty Mobile during the event. There are also five weapons. Four of these are based on ones that appeared in NieR: Automata. These are Cruel Blood Oath, Cruel Oath, EM2: Initieno Atonement, Virtuous Contract, and Virtuous Treaty. The remaining item is a Smoke Grenade design to look like the Machine Lifeform enemies from Square Enix’s game.

There’s an official image showing off all of those rewards we can earn, which you can see below.

Call of Duty Mobile is available on Android and Apple iOS devices. NieR: Automata can be found on the Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and the anime is on Crunchyroll. The crossover between the two starts on May 30, 2025, and some rewards are free to earn.

HoYoVerse announced the first sign that the 8.3 update is on the way for Honkai Impact 3rd by announcing the beta test phase that introduces elements like the new Erdos Helia Planar Armament: Warped Spacetime Battlesuit. Applications are now open for all of us who play the game.

Gaining access to the test server for 8.3 works in the same way as previous ones offered for Honkai Impact 3rd. You need to be an active player, for one. This is because the only way to access the application is via the client. It’ll show up as a news item under an announcement labeled “Recruiting v8.3 Tester.” After clicking on that, you can fill out a form. HoYoVerse will then email anyone picked to participate in the beta.

While the official YouTube hasn’t shared any Honkai Impact 3rd footage of the Erdos Helia Battlesuit Planar Armament: Warped Spacetime, multiple videos appeared on the official Bilibili one. Some of these were story-based, while others looked more at gameplay. Given the past trends and release schedules, we’ll likely start seeing English of those closer to the global launch of the 8.3 update.

This will mark the second Battlesuit available for the character. Erdos Helia debuted in Part 2. When she did, her Valkyrie Boltstorm unit appeared. 

Honkai Impact 3rd is available for the PC and mobile devices, and the new story missions and Erdos Helia Planar Armament: Warped Spacetime Battlesuit will appear in 8.3 in the near future. 8.3 beta test recruitment is open until June 3, 2025.

Cygames released a number of new trailers for the English release of Umamusume, with one of them going over the notable unit Mejiro McQueen and the other highlighting what we can expect from the Anime Expo 2025 appearance of the title. There are four new unit trailers to watch total, and all of them should be in-game when it launches worldwide at the end of June 2026. 

First, the Anime Expo 2025 Umamusume reveal video featured Silence Shizuka and Oguri Cap voice actresses Marika Kohno and Tomoyo Takayanagi in-costume discussing what we’ll see at the convention. Umamusume: Pretty Derby - Beginning of a New Era, the 2024 movie, will be shown in Room 403AB at 1:45pm PT on July 6, 2025. That’s not streaming anywhere, so it being shown at the event is notable. Cygames will give away Silence Shizuka, Special Week, and Tokai Teio pins at its booth throughout the event. Mini cushions will be present there. Takayanagi introduced Oguri Cap and Kohno shared details about Silence Shizuka to close out that video.

As for the new Umamusume character trailers, they featured Grass Wonder, King Halo, Mejiro McQueen, and Mejiro Ryan. Grass Wonder is the star of the thirteenth trailer. She’s voiced by Rena Maeda. She is a part of Team Rigil alongside units like El Condor Pasa and Taiki Shuttle. 

King Halo’s trailer showed up after that. Iori Saeki plays that heroine. She’s not associated with any team.

As for Mejiro McQueen, she’s considered one of the better characters to use in Umamusume even after all this time. She’s also prominently featured in the game and anime adaptation. She’s played y Saori Onishi. While her team affiliation varies based on what you’re playing or watching, she’s on Team Sirius in the game. Oguri Cap used to be on that team, and characters like Narito Brian and Rice Shower are on it with her. 

Finally, the most recent trailer goes over Mejiro Ryan. Yes, she is related to Mejiro McQueen. She isn’t associated with any particular team. Afumi Hashi voices her.

Cygames regularly shares new horse girl trailers ahead of the English Umamusume launch. One of the latest batches included major ones like Daiwa Scarlet.

The Umamusume: Pretty Derby English release date is June 26, 2025, and we’ll be able to pre for the global version of the game on the PC via Steam and Android and iOS mobile devices on April 28, 2025. It is already available in Asia. The new Umamusume: Cinderella Gray anime is on Amazon, and other anime adaptations are on Crunchyroll. Anime Expo will be held July 3-6, 2025, and Cygames will have a booth and show one of the movies based on the series there.

Good Smile Company and miHoYo announced the release of a new Nendoroid figure of Dr Ratio from Honkai: Star Rail. The figure costs 349 yuan (or about $48.44), and it is expected to release first in China on December 2025. At the moment, there is no information regarding a release date for other regions, though past ones like Aventurine and March 7th appeared worldwide.

The Dr Ratio Nendoroid figure is approximately 100mm (or about 3,94 inches) tall and is articulated. The figure comes with three different faces plates, as is common with Nendoroids. These will be a standard smiling face, a thinking face, and a closed-eyes face plate. In addition to the faces, the figure comes with 4 other parts, including his signature Book of Truth, a rubber duck, a pistol, and a bathtub. The bathtub pose appears on a Light Cone in-game.

Furthermore, a special acrylic stand will be added with the Chinese release. It’s still unclear if the stand or a different bonus will be included once the global release of the figure is announced.

As a reminder, the Honkai: Star Rail Nendoroids figures of Robin and Sunday are expected to release on August 2025, and an Aventurine Nendoroid was recently announced and it will be coming out in Japan on February 2026 and in North America sometime in Q3 2026.

HoYoVerse shared details about the Zenless Zone Zero Beard Papa cream puff crossover that will feature Anby and Burnice. The promotion will run in the US starting on June 8, 2025, and it will end on July 15, 2025. In addition to exclusive merchandise, there will also be Perfect Taste Bundle codes for in-game items.

Essentially, the Beard Papa promotion guarantees Zenless Zone Zero merchandise and codes if you get certain collaboration sets. The basic one is called ZZZ x Beard Papa’s Operation Yum Collab 2-Puff Set. This gives you the Anby Key Lime Crumble Puff with vanilla bean filling and key lime topping and the Burnice Royal Raspberry Puff with vanilla filling and raspberry glaze. You also get one random pin with either of the two characters or a Bangboo mascot in the restaurant’s costume and the Perfect Taste Bundle code. The 4-puff set comes with both of the limited edition cream puffs, two Original Vanilla ones, an acrylic standee of one of the two heroines and the code. Finally, a 6-puff set comes with two of the Anby puffs, two of the Burnice ones, two Original Vanilla ones, a standee, a random pin, and the code. 

Here’s how all of the Zenless Zone Zero cream puffs and merchandise will look. The Bangboo mascot is paired with the Original Vanilla option.

This is the second recent Beard Papa crossover with a popular series. At the start of 2025, a Mashle event appeared. This involved both merchandise and specific cream puffs inspired by characters from the anime and manga.

Now that the FFVII Ever Crisis high school AU event Ever Crisis Academy Seven is about to end, Square Enix shared concept art of the uniforms Aerith and Tifa wear in it. It highlights Tifa’s more traditional “honor student” design and Aerith’s modified sukeban delinquent attire. They appeared alongside two-koma FFVII comics based on the event.

Here’s the FFVII Ever Crisis concept art showing the high school uniforms for Aerith and Tifa and gym teacher costume for Barret. 

As for the two-koma comics based on this FFVII Ever Crisis high school event, four showed up on social media. They all offered peeks at the characters going through their school days. The one released the evening of May 27, 2025 also referenced characters who didn’t appear during this storyline, suggesting Cid is a janitor at Midgard Seventh High School and Reeve might be the vice principal.

Here’s all four of those comics. The first to appear was "Grooming? Not Interested." "Dream Come True" appeared after that. The third was "Mr. B's Secret." Finally, the fourth was "Seven Wonders of Seventh High."

Previously, Siliconera spoke with FFVII Ever Crisis Producer Shoichi Ichikawa about the Ever Crisis Academy Seven high school event and character designs. Ichikawa told us, “Tifa is an honor student and Cloud/Zack are delinquents, so while we were wondering what we should do with Aerith, the art team proposed a rough sketch of Aerith as a sukeban. It was visually impactful but also showed a side that was very Aerith-like, such as her fondness for flowers, and we thought we could depict the relationship between Zack and Aerith that is unique to this world setting.”

Sunblink announced a returning Under the Sea Celebration event for all versions of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, as well as update 2.6 for the Apple Arcade version of the game. The aquatic event starts tomorrow on May 29, 2025. Meanwhile, 2.6 is on mobile devices now ahead of an imminent release on the Switch and PC. There is also a trailer going over the update. 

The Under the Sea Celebration in Hello Kitty Island Adventure follows the Month of Meh event. It’s another one of those activities that involves collecting a certain type of item to turn in for cosmetics. In this case, it’s Mermaid Scales. As such, getting access to the mermaid clothes so you can go underwater ahead of taking part can be wise. However, it isn’t necessary since the scale are found in the Seaside Resort beaches and the area to turn them in is in the Resort Plaza hub. The 2025 cosmetics include scuba gear, which will be shown in the trailer for the event.

As for the 2.6 update for Hello Kitty Island Adventure, it involves Big Challenges and Icy Peak. It looks like a roller coaster is about to open on the top of the mountain. However, it also seems new additions are coming to Wish Me Mell’s meadow and Usahana’s City Town sections too. New dancing options seem to be available in this update. We seem to get to go to a performance hall, once it is built, too.

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company International announced the next Pokemon Presents showcase that will go over new games, but we won’t see it for about two months. It will air on July 22, 2025. There’s no exact time for it or placeholder yet, but it will appear on YouTube like past presentations.

A major focus in this stream will likely be Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Nintendo shared the October 2025 release date for it on May 28, 2025, and it being closer to the actual launch day probably means new gameplay footage and reveals. We’ll likely see a lot more to do with the Pokemon Champions title as well. It is possible that the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet mainline installment will debut during this presentation for the first time too.

These Pokemon Presents streams also involve announcements for ongoing games based on the series, as we saw with the Pokemon Day entry in February 2025, so this one should offer a number of announcements tied to the mobile games. Pokemon Unite, Pokemon GO, and Pokemon Cafe Remix updates often come up, and those often involve new characters coming to the game. We also sometimes learn about what is on the way for titles like Pokemon Sleep and Pokemon Masters EX, though the other games feature more prominently. Now that Pokemon TCG Pocket is also live and active, it’s likely a new expansion for that mobile game could show up during the event. 

The next Pokemon Presents showcase will go over games and announcements for existing titles on July 22, 2025.

Lasengle worked with the ACN “Ramses the Great and the Gold of the Pharaohs” Egypt exhibition at Crevia Base Tokyo to release limited time merchandise of the Egyptian Servants from Fate/Grand Order. Not only can visitors learn about history, but they can also pick up goods like pins and cushions.

The Servants who are part of this collaboration are Ozymandias (Ramses II), Nitocris, Nitocris Alter, Cleopatra, and Tutankhamun. If you want to buy the ticket that includes some limited time goods (a ticket holder, a card, and a clear card), you’ll have to pay 5200 JPY ($36.05). The earliest date you can go to the exhibition if you have this ticket is June 14, 2025. If you want to go to the exhibition, and you’re not that interested in the goods, the adult ticket costs 3800 JPY ($26.35) on weekdays and 4000 JPY ($27.75) on weekends.

All the merchandise depicts the characters as chibis. You can purchase them from June 14, 2025. As for the items and prices, they are:

• A4 clear folder: 660 JPY
• Acrylic keychain: 770 JPY each / 3850 JPY per box
• Big acrylic stand: 1650 JPY
• Cushion: 3300 JPY
• Die-cut stickers: 495 JPY

The cushions resemble a pyramid, while the clear folder’s background has the same pattern as the limestone on the pyramids in real life.

Fate/Grand Order is readily available on mobile devices. The “Ramses the Great and the Gold of the Pharaohs” exhibition will run until September 7, 2025, and the Fate/Grand Order goods that are part of the collaboration will be available from June 14, 2025.

HoYoVerse worked with Bkub Okawa, the mangaka known for Pop Team Epic, to release a collection of virtual Honkai: Star Rail stickers. There are 16 total designs available. All of them are available to see and grab from HoYoLab.

These designs are based on the recent 3.0 patch series and updates to Honkai: Star Rail, which means the stickers only features characters from the Astral Express and Amphoreus. This means many of them are Chrysos Heirs, such as Agalea, Anaxa, Castorice, Cipher, Hyacine, Mydei, Phainon, and Tribbie. The Astral Express appearing are both the Caelus and Stelle versions of the Trailblazer, Dan Heng, Himeko, March 7th, Pom-Pom, and Welt. The Trailblazer Remembrance memosprite Mem also appears. The recent Astral Express addition Sunday isn’t present in the pack.

As a reminder, some of the Honkai: Star Rail characters depicted in those Bkub Okawa stickers no longer feature the same voice actors. Due to the SAG-AFTRA video game strike, which started back in 2024, a number of people ended up replaced. Some of the most recent changes involved the performers for Trailblazer avatars Caelus and Stelle.  

Honkai: Star Rail is available for the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the 3.4 update will launch in July 2025.

A Goddess of Victory: NIKKE Padres Night is coming up on June 10, 2025, and now Shift Up shared the baseball costumes appearing alongside the new version update that includes K and the Lord, for Justice story event. Both Blanc and Noir get new outfits. Everything kicks off on May 29, 2025. There’s also a new NIKKE Baseball Season PV featuring the characters playing the game.

The two new NIKKE costumes are No 77 Batter for Blanc and Baseball Cheerleader for Noir. The Noir outfit is being given away to everyone for free. To get it, you need to to the game for seven days in a row after the update on May 29, 2025. That opportunity ends on June 20, 2025. You need to buy the Baseball and finish its missions to get No 77 Batter outfit.

Only one of the costumes has been shown off ahead of the in-game debut. Shift Up released a YouTube Short of Blanc in her uniform.

As for the other additions, trailers and details for K appeared ahead of Lord, for Justice, beginning in NIKKE. She’s an Elysion unit who is part of Perilous Siege and functions as an Attacker. She uses the Double Hazard SMG and deals Electric damage, and her Means of Righteousness Burst Skill is a III type. Both of her ives increase damage, with Scale of Righteousness increasing critical rate and Execution of Righteousness reducing allies’ maximum ammunition capacity in exchange for increasing damage. She’ll appear in Ordinary Recruit and Social Point Recruit after her debut banner ends on June 11, 2025.

Kuro Games released the “Lulala! Lululala!” EP 2.3 for the Wuthering Waves character Ciaccona, and in so doing also revealed that Vtuber Bao the Whale sings the English version of that track from the game. It is available on YouTube, as well as on Apple Music and Spotify. Bao didn't release any statement beyond sharing the announcement and confirming she's the performer for the track on social media.

Bao the Whale is only the singer for the English version of the Ciaccona song, as the Vtuber isn’t the voice actress for the Wuthering Waves character. The English voice actress is Rebecca Hanssen. Most recently, you might recognize Hanssen as the person behind Eve in Stellar Blade and Mellore in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. 

Here’s the Bao the Whale performance of the Wuthering Waves Ciaccona song “Lulala! Lululala!”

The Japanese version’s singer is Sion Tsuji, Maggie sings it in Chinese, and Yuzuha Riko is the Korean version performer.

Ciaccona is a really recent Wuthering Waves character. She debuted on May 22, 2025, as part of the second half of the 2.3 update. She’s a five-star Aero Resonator. She uses guns when she fights, and her signature weapon is the Absolute Pulsation pistol that debuted on the equipment banner alongside her. Both of those banners are available until June 11, 2025. 

Wuthering Waves is available on the PS5, PC, and mobile devices. The Ciaccona banner will run until June 11, 2025. After it ends, we’ll see the 2.4 update appear.

Square Enix surprised us by turning a Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis April Fools’ Day 2025 joke into a full alternate universe (AU) high school themed event called FFVII Ever Crisis Academy Seven: Episode - Brawler. Siliconera was able to briefly talk to Producer Shoichi Ichikawa about the storyline and characters, as well as how the event came to be.

Jenni Lada: How did you come up with the concept for the Ever Crisis Academy Seven FFVII Ever Crisis high school AU scenario? Did you always know it would be a real event?

Shoichi Ichikawa:  Initially, it came from the younger of the development team who voiced their desire to do a school-themed event.

One of the strengths of this title lies in its unique standing as a Live Ops game that takes on new endeavors that would be difficult to achieve in the original FFVII, such as seasonal events and gear, so we consulted [Tetsuya] Nomura-san and made this idea a reality.

For the story, we first worked on a single illustration, and from there, the two base concepts were formed: “Midgard Seventh High School,” a high school for delinquents where Cloud and his group belongs, and “Shinra Private Academy,” an elite school where Sephiroth and his group belongs.

How did you determine which characters would participate in the Ever Crisis Academy Seven FFVII Ever Crisis high school event? 

Ichikawa: We started with the three characters Cloud, Aerith, and Tifa, and gradually expanded the concept as we mused, “If Barret is a part of it, then perhaps he'd be like...” For Midgard Seventh High School, we picked characters who would be key players in the scenario, while Shinra Private Academy would be composed of of Shinra.

Aerith gets to be a sukeban (a girl version of a Japanese bancho character and delinquent youth) as leader of Team Cetra in this FFVII Ever Crisis event. What led to this depiction of the heroine? And how did you decide to adjust her personality accordingly? 

Ichikawa: This was a playful idea on the part of the staff.

Tifa is an honor student and Cloud/Zack are delinquents, so while we were wondering what we should do with Aerith, the art team proposed a rough sketch of Aerith as a sukeban. 

It was visually impactful but also showed a side that was very Aerith-like, such as her fondness for flowers, and we thought we could depict the relationship between Zack and Aerith that is unique to this world setting.

A few characters, such as Cid, Vincent, and Yuffie, ended up left out for this Ever Crisis Academy FFVII Ever Crisis scenario. Were there any ideas for them that didn’t make it into the final event? 

Ichikawa: Yes, there were many different ideas. I am hoping that we will be able to introduce other characters in some form in the future as well.

Ichikawa: Thank you for playing Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis!

Uniqlo announced it will sell shirts based on Pokemon Trading Card Game and Pokemon TCG Pocket, with both adult and kids styles appearing in August 2025. The official Japanese site updated showing the nine men’s designs, which are unisex items, and the eight kids options. 

The adult Uniqlo Pokemon Trading Card Game and TCG Pocket designs are divided into five t-shirts and four sweatshirts. In each case, they’ll be available in sizes XS (extra small) through XXXXL. Each shirt is ¥1,500 (~$11), and the sweatshirts are ¥2,990 (~$21). Designs feature characters like Gardevoir, Gengar, Kabuto, Magikarp, Mewtwo Omanyte, Pikachu, Slowpoke, Snorlax, Unown. In the case of the Gardevoir shirt and the Gengar and Mewtwo sweatshirts, the design is on the back.

As for the kids styles, there are four t-shirts and four sweatshirts. They can be found in children’s sizes 3-4y (100) to 13y (160). The shirts cost ¥990 (~$7) each, while the sweatshirts are ¥1,990 (~$14). In some cases, they feature designs similar to the adult options, such as with Pikachu and Mewtwo. However, the Charizard, Eevee, Lucario, Lapras, Mew, and Mimikyu styles are only available in the kids collection.

The US Uniqlo site isn’t showing any of these new shirts yet. However, it does show some of the other Pokemon Sketch style items already available. Since these types of collections do tend to show up everywhere, it might launch at or around the same time.

The Uniqlo Pokemon Trading Card Game and TCG Pocket shirts will show up in Japan in August 2025. It is unknown when we might start to see the designs appear in-stores and online worldwide. Pokemon TCG Pocket is available on mobile devices.

HoYoVerse announced what we can expect from the 2.0 update to Zenless Zone Zero and, in addition to the Xbox Series X version, new story, and new region, we each will get to choose a free S-Rank character and S-Rank W-Engine. There will also be activities that essentially give players enough currency and items for three ten-pulls on the gacha, as we can earn 1,600 Polychromes that could be put toward either the Star-Studded Cast Stable Channel banner or limited Signal Searches. Free costumes for Belle and Wise will also be available to earn as rewards in Zenless Zone Zero as well. Everything kicks off on June 6, 2025.

First, we actually get to pick which free S-Rank character and W-Engine we want in Zenless Zone Zero after 2.0 arrives. Here’s the list of all playable units we can choose from, as well as their factions, attributes, and specialties:

• Grace - Belobog Heavy Industries - Electric - Anomaly
• Koleda - Belobog Heavy Industries - Fire - Stun
• Lycaon - Victoria Housekeeping - Ice - Stun
• Nekomata - Cunning Hares - Physical - Attack
• Rina - Victoria Housekeeping - Electric -
• Soldier 11 - Obol Squad - Fire - Attack

As for the free S-Rank W-Engines, it looks like the image showed the ones associated with each of those six characters may be available to choose as your free one. Here’s the list of those possible options:

• The Brimstone - Attack
• Fusion Compiler - Anomaly
• Hellfire Gears - Stun
• The Restrained - Stun 
• Steel Cushion - Attack
• Weeping Cradle -

We also got to see and learn the names of the two Zenless Zone Zero costumes for Belle and Wise. Belle’s is called Delicate Sunlight. Wise’s is Soaring Crane. Both are based on attire seen by people in the new Waifei Peninsula, and they each have a white, yellow, and black color scheme.

Here is how the Zenless Zone Zero Belle and Wise costumes look, and there’s also a screen capture of the free S-Rank characters being given away.

New and returning characters appearing in 2.0 also came up, as the next Zenless Zone Zero Agents were confirmed. The three Yunkui Summit characters, as mentioned before, are Yixuan, Ju Fufu, and Pan Yinhu. Pan Yinhu is the only A-Rank one, as the others are S-Rank. Yixuan, returning character Astra Yao, and Pan Yinhu will be available at launch in 2.0, while Ju Fufu and returning Agent Caesar will appear in the second part of the update.

Zenless Zone Zero is on the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the Xbox Series X version and 2.0 update comes on June 6, 2025.
